Text versus video: Which adaptation is better?

The following post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones and Fate/Zero.

So I just finished watching the first season of Game of Thrones, a series that I knew absolutely nothing about, primarily because I've never read the original novels by George R. R. Martin. I have also started watching the Fate/Zero anime, currently into its second episode on Nico Nico. I have all six volumes of the original JP Fate/Zero novels lying on my shelf, I just simply haven't had the time to read through them all.

Time for a blog revamp

I've noticed that for the past year or so, all of my blog posts consist of just random video or image reposts. I'll do my best to focus more on producing original content from now. And after watching EVO 2011, I think I might revisit my Playing to Win series of articles again; Perhaps I'll share some tips and tricks on how to cultivate self-motivation when on a losing streak, something that I've been struggling with in the arcades recently.

Note that any gaming/anime event reports, and reviews, will still be posted on No Game No Talk and Animenauts only, and nowhere else. I also hope that I can start churning out more regular articles for NGNT and Animenauts, since I've decided to become jobless for a while.

So yes, welcome back to Foppy's Posterior. Enjoy the view and enjoy your stay.

Time to rethink my focus on the fighting games that I play

That's it. I think I can officially retire from KOF. I am incredibly frustrated by how some KOF players are able to carve out victories by playing badly (eg. poor hit confirming, random supers, dropped combos, etc.). This, while I am doing my best to play the game properly (eg. playing safe, doing proper combos, etc.).

You will never, ever see this kind of stuff in MBAA, which is why I love that game so much. If I lose in MBAA, it's because the opposing player did something good that surpasses my skills. I would gladly lose to Farhan/MJ/Joel a hundred times, rather than losing once to a scrub. Because at the very least, I can still learn something from the former.
